My Monthly Favorite Eco-conscious Products - September 2022

My Monthly Favorite Eco-conscious Products - September 2022

September is a synonym for a restart. This year more than ever. After over two years of working from home, I am finally back at the office—the perfect opportunity to discover new (favorite) products.

As an introvert who works better in a quiet environment, returning to the office (even if it’s just two days per week, for now) wasn’t easy - mainly due to my long commute (2 hours each way). But there are also a few positives:

  • Meeting colleagues in-person for the first time.

  • Creating new routines.

  • Cherishing even more the days I get to work from home.

  • Discovering new products.

Without further ado, these were the eco-conscious beauty products I used the most in September 2022.

Nudestix Nudies Bloom All-Over Dewy Color - Cherry Blossom Babe Blush

What a gem! A close friend recommended this blush to me after her recent trip to the US, and I am so glad she did.

After a not-so-positive experience with another cream blush in the past, I have been quite reticent about giving these formulas another try, mainly because these aren’t exactly cheap.

However, given her recommendation and all the praise on Nudestix products online, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to retry creamy blush formulas.

I picked the shade Cherry Blossom Babe on Sephora’s website. The tone on the website is the same as the product IRL (which rarely happens when we buy makeup online). The blush shade is stunning. Given my skin tone, it looks like I am naturally blushed.

Making this the perfect blush shade for me. Not too light nor too intense. Super easy to blend out, incredibly long-lasting (all day), and it doesn’t transfer - even when I wear a face mask.

Given such a positive experience, I can’t wait to try other Nudestix products - like their cream bronzers.

Urban Decay Moondust Space Cowboy Eyeshadow

I’ve had my eye on this eyeshadow for over a year, but it was always out of stock.

So, when I saw that Urban Decay’s Moondust Space Cowboy eyeshadow was back in stock at Sephora Spain’s website… I placed an order right away.

Despite thinking it was a lot of money for a single eyeshadow (24,99€), I fell immediately for it the second I opened the package.

It’s so simple, yet so unique. The Space Cowboy eyeshadow works either as a topper or a glittery eyeshadow with a very light beige base.

Throughout September, I’ve been using this eyeshadow by itself (during the weekend). Alternatively, on top of a light pink matte eyeshadow (for work).

I am thrilled to finally have this one in my collection after so long, and I know that this will be one of my go-to eyeshadows - especially when traveling (given its convenient format).

If you’re looking for a dupe, this one reminds me a lot of ColourPop’s Ladybird Super Shock Shadow. However, the ColourPop one isn’t as special, sparkly, or even as long-lasting as this one from Urban Decay.

Natasha Denona Mini Biba Eyeshadow Palette

Natasha Denona’s Mini Biba Eyeshadow palette is undoubtedly the eyeshadow palette I struggled with the most when I initially bought it. Still, I am glad I managed to find how to use it and get the most out of it.

Throughout September, this was the eyeshadow palette I used the most (along with Urban Decay’s Space Cowboy eyeshadow) to create my office looks, mainly because it allows me to create a put-together, quick, yet neutral look without spending much time.

Out of the five shades in this small palette, I created my eye makeup using only two tones (Plush and Blaze Nude). On other days, I would use the shade Plush all over my lid with a bit of Urban Decay’s Space Cowboy as a topper.

Suppose you’re looking for a simple and no-brainer eyeshadow palette to create everyday looks, but you’re not fond of pink tones. In that case, Natasha Denona has plenty of mini eyeshadow palettes.

Feel free to seek the one that matches your style and current needs.

REN Clean Skincare Keep Young And Beautiful Firm And Lift Eye Cream

I’ve been struggling with the hydration in my under-eye area recently, making my skin feel tight and my fine lines more visible. So, when I got my hands on this travel-sized REN’s Clean Skincare Keep Young And Beautiful Firm And Lift Eye Cream, I decided to give it a go.

I was immediately surprised by the lightness of the formula. It’s like milky water with enough density to nourish this area but light enough to be easily absorbed by the skin.

After applying it, I enjoyed how my under-eye area felt: fresh, hydrated, and nourished without a greasy or heavy sensation. This was also the first eye cream I’ve ever worn that could be applied to the eyelids. Probably, because of its light texture. It has a very light and faint scent. Ideal if, like me, you’re sensitive to perfumes and fragrances on skincare products.

Even though I haven’t noticed an improvement in my dark circles (because mine are vein-related) or fine lines, I enjoyed using this product, given its hydration to my under-eye area.

Mario Badescu Witch Hazel & Rosewater Toner

I’ve heard great things about Mario Badescu’s skincare products for a while now. But, for some reason, I’ve never felt tempted to buy these.

Last month I got a travel-sized Mario Badescu Witch Hazel & Rosewater Toner, along with an order I placed on Sephora’s website. Which was the perfect opportunity to give it a try and figure out what the fuss is all about.

First, I loved the scent. A light and delicate rose scent worked perfectly for me, even though I am pretty sensitive to these. Second, I enjoyed the refreshing and soothing sensation it leaves on my skin. Third, I’ve noticed that my skin remained hydrated throughout the day when I used this toner before applying Drunk Elephant’s Protini™ Polypeptide Cream

Making my skin look healthier overall. So, I am going to purchase this product in full size. Especially now that colder days are just around the corner.
