Detox Skinfood Review

Detox Skinfood Review

Green thinking, green beauty. That’s the premise behind Detox Skinfood. Their products are make with natural ingredients, suitable for vegans and cruelty free. Find out our experience trying some of their staple products.

Nourishing your skin is as important as nourishing your body. This is the largest organ in our body, yet somehow you might end up neglecting it every now and then. And yes, don’t feel ashamed… we’ve all been there at some point.

If you’re taking this quarantine as an opportunity to self-care and do those things that you usually forget about... stick around.

Detox Skinfood is a clean beauty skincare brand. Which ingredients do they use? The same that should be in your plate: kale, olive oil, wheatgrass, amaranth, spirulina, ginger, argan oil, chlorella…

Their packages are quite sustainable and the products are affordable. The detox travel kit I’ve been testing costed 10 euros (for 4 products). Which is a bargain, especially when it comes to a clean beauty brand.

First of all, this is my honest and personal experience trying out this skincare routine. This article isn’t sponsored. All the products were purchased by The Sustainablist, so I could give you an unbiased opinion.

This experience took place for a month during the quarantine. As I have been deprived from the sunlight or going outdoors, my skin face went a bit crazy. Going from as dry as the Sonora desert to oily as a churro, in f hours.

Without further ado, here’s my review on these products.

Active Cleanser

I dare to say that this was my favourite product of the bundle. This gel is quite fluid, doesn’t have any perfume and turns into a light foam once applied on the skin.

Apply it with cold water for a more energising effect. And that’s exactly what happen, which felt great after a day stuck at home and in front of the screen.

It gives you a refreshing feel and it cleansed my skin. Without leaving that dry and stiff feeling afterwards.

The best part? The freshness on my skin. And that it was clean and hydrated at the same time.

Total Face Serum

This serum surprised me by it’s lightness. The texture is so light and easy to apply. You’ll need two pumps to cover the whole face, if you’re using the travel sized product.

I enjoyed how my face felt once I’ve applied it. It doesn’t hydrate or nourish your skin the same way as a moisturiser does. This is a complement, not a substitute. So, you’ll always need to use a face cream afterwards.

The best part? The lightness and how easy it is to apply it all over the face.

Anti-Wrinkle cream

This rich has a very rich texture, so you need to be careful when you’re applying it. As a very small amount will be more than enough to cover the whole face.

I could tell that during the first weeks my skin looked more hydrated and better looking. Unfortunately, after a few weeks I’ve noticed that my face became greasy a few hours after applying it. Which can be a result of my skin’s identity issues during this lockdown.

As this is an anti-wrinkle skin, I have to say that haven’t noticed a particular difference. I also have very fine lines, so I guess it would be harder to tell the difference.

The best part? The very small amount of product you need to cover the entire face.

Cleansing Balm

For starters, I didn’t knew what to except from this product. I’ve never used a cleansing balm before. Even though this format is becoming quite popular among beauty brands.

The experience was quite positive. I enjoyed how it felt on my skin, as the formula is quite gentle and it melted my makeup. What surprised me was that I haven’t felt my eyes burn. It happens every now and then after removing my makeup with micellar water.

I need to get used to this format, which is quite easy to use.

The best part? The way the product blends with your makeup, making it quite easy to remove afterwards. Also the fact that it is so gentle with your eyes.

Would I recommend this kit?

Yes! I was quite surprised by the texture of the formulas. Also, there’s no perfume involved and they use natural ingredients.

The fact that they have this product bundle available on travel-size is positive. This way not only you can try a complete face routine without blowing up the bank. and you won’t feel that devastated if the products don’t work for you.
