Homemade Deodorant

Homemade Deodorant

Looking for an eco-friendly deodorant? Learn how to make your own with ingredients you can easily find at the health food store.

Switching to clean beauty products has it’s perks. For you and the planet. But the trust is, some of these products are pricier that the conventional ones you’ve been using.

Natural deodorants with a zero waste packaging cost around 7 to 11 euros. Which is two to three times more than the regular drugstore options.

If you’re looking for a more natural deodorant on a budget, you’ve came to the right place.

Here’s a deodorant recipe easy to make and with affordable ingredients that are easy to find. In fact, you might already have some of these ingredients in your cupboard.

Makes about 60 ml

35g arrowroot flour

1 tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda (baking soda)

2 tablespoons coconut oil (not heaped)

5 drops lemon essential oil or your preferred essential oil*

Melt the coconut oil. Mix all the ingredients together. Transfer the mixture to a clean jar or tin. Let the mixture harden overnight.

Apply a small amount daily with your fingertips within 2 months.

*I usually use lemon or lavender essential oil.
