Burt’s Bees 3-Step Lip Care Set Review

Burt’s Bees 3-Step Lip Care Set Review

Burt’s Bees is all about clean and natural ingredients. But are their products as good as they sound? Let’s find out.

This is one of those brands that have been on my list for years. Unfortunately, it was really hard to find when I was living in Lisbon (Portugal). Even though I went to London a few times pre-COVID life, I never really purchased any of their products. Mostly because I didn’t need a new lip balm at the time.

What has changed? Two things: I live in Madrid (Spain), where Burt’s Bees products are easier to find (Burt’s Bees Spain and LookFantastic). And I am more into clean beauty than ever.

Fortunately, Burt’s Bees is so much more than a lip balm brand these days. They have so many appealing products that it’s really hard to choose from (at least for me).

Even though I’ve bought a couple more products, today I am focusing on my experience with their 3-step lip care set. Because it’s wintertime and your lips might need some extra pampering.

I dare say that this was my very first experience with a lip scrub. Yes, I’ve made a few at home with sugar and honey. But this was my first experience with one that was ready to use.

How was the experience? Well, it was a very pleasant experience. Unfortunately, I can’t really tell the difference after using it.

Yes, the formula is really gentle. It smells like toffee and the grains dissolve pretty fast. Which is quite nice.

Would I repurchase this product? Well, no. Not because it’s bad or there’s something wrong about it. It’s just… I can’t really tell the difference whether I use it or not.

Would I recommend it to you? Well, it depends. If you want to get started with lip scrubs or you’re looking for something quite gentle with your lips, this might be a good place to start. Also, it’s not expensive (8,99€) and it’s made with natural ingredients - so no harm here.

Burt’s Bees Overnight Intensive Lip Treatment

This would be the second step of this routine. I’ve been applying it pretty much every day before going to bed, and some days as a lip balm before going to work (well, sitting at my home desk and getting started on my computer).

Unlike the lip scrub, I really enjoyed this product and I will definitely repurchase it when I run out of it.

Despite the name, it spreads really well and feels very comfortable on your lips. It has nothing to do with that vaseline feeling that some overnight lip masks have.

A few weeks before trying Burt’s Bees Overnight Intensive Lip Treatment, I tried the one from Laneige - way more expensive and highly praised among beauty influencers.

Out of these two, I prefer the one from Burt’s Bees. Has a more natural formula, feels much more comfortable on the lips, it’s easier to apply, and more on my budget.

For me, the one from Laneige was a huge disappointment - at so many levels. It really felt like I was using vaseline (a very expensive one), it wasn’t comfortable at all and I couldn’t tell that my lips were more hydrated the next day.

If you’re looking for an overnight lip treatment/mask or just a reliable nasty-free lip balm… I would highly recommend you this one.

Even though this is considered the third (and last) step of the routine, it isn’t applied right after the second step. But in the morning after, instead. Or every single day, several times a day. Leaving Burt’s Bees Overnight Intensive Lip Treatment for those minutes right before going to bed.

Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm is just like their regular (and all-time favorite) lip balm, only tinted. This is great for those days you have a meeting or family event, but don’t feel like using lipstick.

Also great if you want a touch of color without compromising the hydration part.

Would I repurchase this product? Absolutely! The formula is really hydrating, it feels really comfortable on the lips, and it’s really easy to apply. Also, the slight tint makes me look instantly better (and healthier) while keeping the hydrating that my lips need.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely, yes. Even though it’s a two-in-one product (as it can replace a lipstick or lip tint), it really works to perfection. Also, it’s on a budget, long-lasting and so much better than some hyped lip balms on the market (like Eos).

Disclaimer: Even though Burt’s Bees is a natural and nasty-free brand, it is not suitable for vegans - as it uses animal by-products (like honey) in some of its formulas. Also, all the reviewed products were purchased by me. In order to give you an honest and unbiased review.
