Natasha Denona I Need A Nude Palette Review

Natasha Denona I Need A Nude Palette Review

Natasha Denona’s I Need A Nude Palette was one of the most hyped eyeshadow palettes in the last quarter of 2023. But is it worth the hype and its price tag? Let’s find out!

When Natasha Denona’s I Need A Nude eyeshadow palette was released last year, I was skeptical about whether it would be a good fit for me.

Don’t get me wrong. I love Natasha Denona’s eyeshadows. Their formulas have been some of my favorites for a few years, and I knew they would not disappoint. The thing was… I wasn’t sure about its color story and if it would suit me - as I have very fair skin and usually navigate more toward warm neutrals.

However, the initial reviews online were so positive that I swatched it at my local Sephora and later purchased it during a Sephora sale.

But before I go through my personal experience with this product, let’s start by checking what the brand tells about it on its website.

What does the brand say about the I Need A Nude Eyeshadow Palette?

According to Natasha Denona’s website, the I Need a Nude Eyeshadow Palette has a cool-toned color story featuring 15 new muted rosy and nude shades. Alongside Natasha’s iconic formulas, this eyeshadow palette debuts a brand-new wet-effect sparking and glossy-finish formula, illuminating any eyeshadow look with an ethereal touch of glistening sparkle.

In terms of formula, this eyeshadow palette features 2 high-shine metallic, 7 buttery-soft matte, 3 captivating sparkling foiled finishes, and 3 eyeshadows in the new wet effect formula with sparkling and glossy finishes.

How to apply these?

Whatever formula you apply, the brand recommends we prime the eyelid first to ensure long-lasting wear and intensify its vibrant colors.

Matte Eyeshadows: For a seamless diffused finish, apply in swiping motions with a fluffy eyeshadow brush. Don’t forget to tap off the excess. For a maximum color payoff, apply a soft, dense eyeshadow brush in packing motions, and then blend to diffuse.

Metallic and sparkling Foiled Eyeshadows: For maximum color payoff, apply with a soft and dense eyeshadow brush in a packing motion. Apply with a damp, dense eyeshadow brush or the tip of your finger for a foiled finish.

What were my expectations with this eyeshadow palette?

When I purchased this product, I was looking for a reliable, neutral eyeshadow palette with matte and shimmery finishes that I could use daily.

I was already familiar with Natasha Denona’s formulas, so I was hoping for something with the same quality that I was used to—but with hues that go better with my everyday needs.

My experience using the I Need A Nude Eyeshadow Palette

The first thing that caught my attention at Sephora was how soft these eyeshadows are - in their matte, shimmery, or wet finish.

The tones fell within my comfort zone regarding eyeshadows—soft rosy tones. When it comes to the grey shades, I am not really used to using this kind of cold tones. However, I dare say these look good on me. They aren’t too dark or overly pigmented, which is great if I ever want to create a soft smokey look.

The matte shades, despite being a powder formula, feel very soft and a bit creamy. Which makes these quite easy to work with without experiencing any fallout. These are easily buildable. So, feel free to play with these to get your ideal intensity.

The shimmery shades are incredible and follow the exact formula that I love so much from Natasha Denona. Nothing new here.

Now, let's talk about the wet-effect formulas. These are the ones that truly stole my heart. They are absolutely stunning and buttery, creating an incredible look on the mobile eye lid. I can't help but always reach out for these whenever I use this palette. Trust me, they are a must-try.

Regarding pigmentation, the eyeshadows on Natasha Denona's I Need A Nude palette have the perfect pigmentation - not too little, but not too much. This makes these easy to build up and blend out, even if you have little experience working with eyeshadows.

After putting it to the test several times, I do realize what the hype was all about.

Would I recommend it?

Yes, but only if you like the color story.

Natasha Denona’s I Need a Nude is an incredible eyeshadow palette. Thanks to the different formulas, it is not the typical neutral and boring nude eyeshadow palette; it goes way beyond that.

I recommend using an eyeshadow primer first, especially if you have oily eyelids like mine.

I know it’s not a cheap product, but it’s totally worth the investment. You can easily find this one discounted during a Sephora sale, so keep an eye on upcoming promotions and discount codes.
